Ringwood District is one of 88 seats in the Victorian Legislative Assembly, and ncludes the suburbs of Mitcham, Nunawading, Ringwood, Ringwood East and Heathmont, plus parts of Blackburn, Blackburn North, Donvale, Forest Hill and Vermont.

These suburbs form part of the traditional lands of the Wurundjeri peoples, who have lived on this country for over 40,000 years. Today, the electorate is home to over 60,000 residents from all corners of the globe. In fact, a language other than English is spoken in one third of all households in this District.

Our community is a beautiful part of Melbourne, with lush green parks and treasured waterways including Blackburn Lake, Ringwood Lake and Mullum Mullum Creek.

The electorate is also dotted with small community shopping strips, plus the large Eastland shopping centre right in the heart of the electorate. We’re also lucky to be connected to the Belgrave and Lilydale train lines, plus the bus interchange at Ringwood station. The Eastern Freeway runs along the northern border, and Eastlink splits Ringwood District into its eastern and western halves..

Ringwood has been held by the Labor Party’s Dustin Halse since 2018, who has secured major upgrades of every single government high school, funding to remove the last two local dangerous and congested level crossings and new local social housing projects. But there is so much to do, which is why I’m excited to stand as your local Labor candidate for Ringwood. Because only a re-elected Andrews Labor Government will get on and deliver the improvements our community needs, and deserves.
